English
as an international language
An English language is a language that is widely
used in the whole world. For various reasons English has achieved the prestige
of being an international language. Today English is the major language of news
and information across the globe. It has become the language of diplomacy,
business, science and profession. Without English it is very difficult to
communicate across languages and cultures. English is very essential for higher
education because most of the books of higher education are now accessible
through the medium of English.
The Victory Day
This is why people whose mother tongue is not
English try hard to learn this language. For learners of English there are
various methods and techniques. Modern method emphasizes less on grammar and more on
communicative aspect. But the necessity grammar can in no way be undermined. Without
learning grammar the users will not be able to use the language properly. Grammar
helps us to learn the exact and artistic use of a language.
The 16th December is the ‘Victory Day’ of Bangladesh. Bangladesh
became independent on this day. We celebrate
this day every year with great pleasure and joy. It is a national holiday. All offices,
educational institution, mills and factories remain closed. Different socio-cultural
organizations hold cultural functions to celebrate our victory. On this day, we
remember the martyrs of the Liberation war .
They sacrificed their lives to achieve our
independence. On the way, we feel great sympathy and sorrow for the martyrs of the
Liberation War. Their strength and
courage inspires us. After nine months of fighting we achieved the golden sun
of independence from the barbarous Pakistanis. The Victory Day symbolizes the
triumph of justice over tyranny.
